Privacy Policy

• We collect only what we need to run AcademicArk: your account, your academic profile, and how you use the site.
• We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
• We use a small set of trusted services (listed below) to host the site, take payments, send emails and understand usage.
• You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time by writing to support@academicark.in.
• Every reminder or offer email has an Unsubscribe link.

AcademicArk (academicark.in) is an independent study platform for AKTU B.Tech students and GATE CS aspirants, operated from Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean AcademicArk. This policy explains how we handle personal data under Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

• Account details: name, email address and profile photo. If you sign up with email, your password is stored only in hashed (scrambled) form. If you use Google sign-in, we receive your name, email and photo from Google.
• Academic profile: college, branch, semester and similar details you add, so we can show the right subjects and material.
• Usage information: pages you visit, notes you open or download, searches, bookmarks, attendance or planner entries you save, and similar activity.
• Device information: browser, device type, approximate location from your IP address, and error logs.
• Payment records: plan, amount, date, order ID and payment status. We never receive your full card, UPI PIN or bank login.
• Messages and feedback: what you send through the contact or feedback forms, any files you attach, and emails you send us.
• Email activity: whether our emails are opened and which links are clicked, so we send fewer, more useful emails.
• AI chats: questions you type into Ark AI features and the answers generated.

• To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
• To show notes, PYQs and exam tools for your semester and branch.
• To process payments, activate plans and send receipts.
• To send important service emails (such as password resets and receipts) and, unless you unsubscribe, study reminders and updates.
• To understand which features help students, find bugs and improve AcademicArk.
• To prevent spam, abuse, fraud and misuse of paid access.
• To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We share data with these services only as needed for the job they do for us:

Some of these services may store data on servers outside India. We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users and the service.

• Essential: keep you signed in and remember choices such as your semester. AcademicArk does not work properly without these.
• Analytics: Google Analytics and PostHog help us count visits and see which features are used.
• Advertising: on some pages, Google AdSense may use cookies to show and measure ads. You can control personalised ads in your Google Ad Settings.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, sign-in may stop working.

We send emails from addresses ending in @academicark.in. Service emails (receipts, password resets, security notices) are always sent. Reminders and offers can be stopped at any time with the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. We never ask for your password or OTP by email.

• Account and academic profile: while your account is active.
• If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days.
• Payment records: kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires, even after account deletion.
• Analytics and error logs: kept only as long as they are useful for improving the service, then deleted or aggregated.

All traffic to AcademicArk uses HTTPS encryption. Passwords are hashed, payment details are handled by Cashfree, and access to user data is limited to the people who run AcademicArk. No system is perfectly secure, but if we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we will inform you and the authorities as required by law.

• Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct: update your details from your profile and academic profile, or ask us to fix them.
• Delete: ask us to delete your account and personal data.
• Unsubscribe: stop reminder and offer emails using the link in any email.
• Withdraw consent / complain: tell us if you no longer want us to use your data in a certain way.

Write to support@academicark.in from your registered email address. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on the request.

AcademicArk is built for college students. If you are under 18, please use AcademicArk with the consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly target ads at users under 18. If a parent or guardian believes their child has shared data without consent, please write to us and we will delete it.

We will update this page if the way we handle data changes — for example, if we start using a new service. The date at the top shows the latest version. For important changes, we will also tell you on the website or by email.
