AKTU DBMS Important Questions - Unit-Wise with Solutions

Important questions are only worth anything if they come from the papers themselves. This list is built by counting how often each question pattern has actually appeared across AKTU DBMS (BCS-301) papers, not by guessing what might be asked.

database management system study guide

The collection is organised unit-wise: ER model and extended ER features from Unit 1; relational algebra and SQL queries including joins, nested queries and aggregate functions from Unit 2; functional dependencies and normalisation up to BCNF from Unit 3; transaction properties, serialisability, concurrency control and locking protocols from Unit 4; and recovery techniques, indexing and B-trees from Unit 5.

High-frequency patterns are marked so you know what to attempt first if you are short on time. Normalisation problems, SQL query writing and conflict-serialisability checking between them account for a large share of every DBMS paper — securing those three topics alone is usually enough to pass comfortably, and mastering them puts a distinction within reach.

Frequently asked questions

Which DBMS questions repeat most in AKTU exams?

Normalisation up to BCNF, SQL query writing with joins and nested queries, ER diagram design, and conflict-serialisability testing of schedules repeat in almost every AKTU DBMS paper.

Can I pass AKTU DBMS by studying only important questions?

Important questions plus solved previous year papers are usually enough to pass, but scoring high needs conceptual clarity in normalisation and transactions, since those questions change form between papers.
